Sydney, Australia – 10 August 2026 – A key highlight of the Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Programme in Sydney was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Australia Vietnam Trade and Investment Promotion (AVTIP) and Saigontourist Group.

As one of Vietnam’s leading multi-service tourism groups, Saigontourist Group operates a diverse ecosystem spanning hotels, resorts, travel services, food and beverage, entertainment, and tourism training. With an extensive network across Vietnam and strong international partnerships, Saigontourist Group plays an important role in promoting Vietnam as a destination to international markets.

Expanding Vietnam–Australia Tourism Cooperation

The signing of the MOU marks a new step in the cooperation between AVTIP and Saigontourist Group, with a focus on promoting Vietnamese tourism in Australia, connecting travel trade partners, developing B2B activities, promoting destinations and tourism products, and implementing roadshows, famtrips, and business networking programmes between the two markets.

For AVTIP, the agreement represents another step towards building a long-term network connecting tourism organisations, businesses, industry associations, and stakeholders across Australia. The aim is to transform initial connections into concrete collaborative programmes and meaningful business opportunities.

A Milestone in Bilateral Business Connections

The signing ceremony took place as part of a programme attended by General Secretary and President Tô Lâm, senior Vietnamese leaders, senior Australian representatives, as well as representatives from tourism associations, businesses, the tourism industry, and the media from both countries.

Following the signing ceremony, a number of cooperation agreements between Vietnamese and Australian organisations and businesses were also exchanged in the presence of delegates, reflecting the increasingly strong and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

For AVTIP, the MOU with Saigontourist Group is not only a cooperation agreement but also the starting point for concrete initiatives to expand the Australian market for Vietnamese tourism and create further opportunities for two-way collaboration.

AVTIP looks forward to continuing its partnership with Saigontourist Group to connect businesses, expand market opportunities, and foster new avenues of cooperation between Australia and Vietnam.
