A connection that began in Gia Lai earlier this year continued in the opposite direction on 28 September 2026, when a senior Gia Lai delegation arrived in Sydney for the Gia Lai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Conference 2026.

Led by Mr Thai Dai Ngoc, Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, the delegation met Australian businesses, investors and industry organisations to introduce Gia Lai’s new development potential and explore cooperation across tourism, trade, investment, agriculture, logistics and other priority sectors.

The conference also welcomed Mr Nguyen Thanh Tung, Consul-General of Vietnam in Sydney; Ms Charishma Kaliyanda MP, Member of the NSW Parliament; Dr Frank Alafaci, President of the Australian Business Summit Council; and Ms Silvia Alafaci, Deputy Mayor of the City of Canada Bay, alongside provincial officials and business representatives from both countries.

One of the key outcomes from the Gia Lai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion program in Sydney was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Australian company GPS Guardian Property Specialists and Khu Công nghiệp Nhơn Hội A Nhon Hoi Industrial Park A.

For AVTIP, the Sydney conference continued a two-way journey that began with the Australian familiarisation delegation to Gia Lai in May. By connecting provincial leadership directly with the Australian market, AVTIP aims to turn market understanding into partnerships, investment opportunities and long-term Australia–Vietnam cooperation.
