Sydney, Australia – 10 August 2026 – The Vietnam–Australia Tourism Promotion Programme in Sydney was successfully held, bringing together representatives from government agencies, the aviation and tourism sectors, industry associations, media, and business communities from both countries.

Strengthening Two-Way Tourism Connections and Cooperation
One of the key highlights of the programme was the signing and exchange of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) involving Vietnam Airlines, Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism), and Saigontourist Group, together with Australian partners including Luxury Escapes, Intrepid Travel, ATIA – Australian Travel Industry Association, QueenTours Australia, AVTIP, and Powerhouse Communications.
These agreements establish a foundation for the partners to undertake practical initiatives in destination promotion, aviation connectivity, tourism product development, market communications, and the promotion of two-way visitor flows between Vietnam and Australia.

A 35-Year Milestone Connecting Vietnam and Australia
The programme also marked 35 years of Vietnam Airlines operating routes connecting Vietnam and Australia – a journey that has contributed to the development of tourism, trade, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
The presence of General Secretary and President Tô Lâm, senior leaders, government representatives, and a large number of businesses from both countries highlighted the increasingly important role of tourism cooperation within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Australia.

From MOUs to Meaningful Opportunities for Cooperation
As a co-organiser and partner connector, AVTIP is proud to have contributed to the success of the programme and supported the development of new partnerships between Vietnamese and Australian organisations and businesses.
For AVTIP, the MOUs signed at the programme are not an endpoint, but rather a starting point for concrete collaborative initiatives – from tourism product development and travel trade connections to market expansion and attracting more visitors between the two countries.
AVTIP will continue to work alongside its partners to transform the connections made in Sydney into meaningful cooperation and long-term value for the Vietnam–Australia tourism sector.
From connections to cooperation.
From agreements to action.
Together, opening a new chapter for Vietnam–Australia tourism. 🇦🇺🤝🇻🇳
