Ho Chi Minh City, 4 September 2026 – Australia–Vietnam Trade & Investment Promotion (AVTIP) and the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association (VYEA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), opening a new stage of cooperation focused on connecting businesses and developing trade and investment opportunities between Australia and Vietnam.
The signing took place during a B2B networking program organised by VYEA in cooperation with the Ho Chi Minh City Young Business Association (YBA HCM), bringing together Vietnamese businesses and an Australian business delegation visiting Vietnam. The program followed VYEA’s trade promotion mission to Australia in May 2026 and continued the business connections established during that visit.

Connecting business communities across two markets
The event welcomed representatives from the business and diplomatic communities of both countries, including Mr Phan Tan Dat, Vice President of VYEA and Chairman of YBA HCM; Ms Kate Wallace, Australian Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City; Dr Frank Alafaci, President of the Australian Business Summit Council; and Mr Harry Tran, CEO of AVTIP, together with VYEA members and Australian business representatives.

The program created a platform for companies to exchange market information, discuss business needs and explore potential partnerships in Australia and Vietnam.

MOU creates a framework for practical cooperation
Through the MOU, AVTIP and VYEA will work together to connect Vietnamese companies with partners and opportunities in Australia, assist Australian businesses seeking partners, sourcing and investment opportunities in Vietnam, facilitate business delegations and B2B matching activities, and expand information exchange between the two business communities.

The agreement builds on VYEA’s May 2026 trade promotion program in Australia, which included business meetings, market visits and engagement with Vietnamese and Australian business networks.
AVTIP: turning connections into market opportunities
For AVTIP, the MOU reflects our ongoing role as a business bridge between Australia and Vietnam.

Through business matching, trade missions, market engagement and cross-border partnerships, AVTIP works to help Vietnamese businesses navigate opportunities in Australia while connecting Australian companies with credible partners, suppliers and investment opportunities in Vietnam. This approach is aligned with AVTIP’s broader focus on building practical commercial links between the two markets.

The partnership with VYEA provides a new platform to move from initial introductions towards meaningful business relationships and long-term commercial opportunities.
